What's goodwill? Do you like when another acts on goodwill for you and/or others?
What is one able to give without risk harming another, at least not in-tended so?

Thought worthy making such a topic for possible special experiences.

Personally, I find it very difficult to make an idea of goodwill, because I see that we all are very conditioned by a lot of factors, such as culture, DNA, body, personal life. Moreover, I think that the idea of goodwill would make me judge the heart of people: that guy has goodwill, the other one doesn’t show so much goodwill. This way I would be making judgements that actually I can’t, because I don’t know what is in the intimate, in the heart of anybody.
In order to favour a good behaviour, I prefer to think in terms of advantage. I want for me the highest possible quality of spiritual life, because this opens me to the best experiences in life, and I think that promoting generosity, altruism, in me and in other people, makes possible higher levels of spiritual experience.
At the same time, I feel some responsibility to educate people, to witness some orientation. So, if, for example, I am the guide of a group and I see that somebody behaves badly, for example by bullying other people, I feel a responsibility to admonish that person towards being responsible for their behaviour. In this case I don’t want to judge their heart: I don’t know why they behaved without responsibility. I just know that it is possible to improve the situation.
In other words, for me it is like goodwill and ill will don’t exist, because nobody will ever be able to make such intimate judgements. Rather, I would like everybody to experience how life becomes richer when we cultivate personal improvement towards good behaviour. First of all, this is difficult to myself: many elements prevent me from being clearly convinced about the higher experience of generosity. Perhaps because I want to welcome in my life some natural instincts that make me feel human and authentic, I am not sure about this.

A mind of goodwill for all wouldn't require good householder to make a distinction between all other beings, sure it's spiritual, goes beyond the sensual world, and not common. Whom would he like to lose, remembering being responsible for own behaviour, heir of actions?

Invaluable, or? Worthy to give everything. Rewarded in eleven aspects very direct for the honest giver:

"For one whose awareness-release through good will is cultivated, developed, pursued, handed the reins and taken as a basis, given a grounding, steadied, consolidated, and well-undertaken, eleven benefits can be expected. Which eleven?

"One sleeps easily, wakes easily, dreams no evil dreams. One is dear to human beings, dear to non-human beings. The devas protect one. Neither fire, poison, nor weapons can touch one. One's mind gains concentration quickly. One's complexion is bright. One dies unconfused and — if penetrating no higher — is headed for the Brahma worlds (realms beyond sensual world).

Perhaps the English word “goodwill” causes some misunderstanding, because of its reference to will, “good will”: who am I to judge the will of somebody, including myself? Maybe “goodwill” it is not the best word to translate the Buddhist concept.

My person is not sure why good householder struggles with coherent things, tends to contradict basics to try to fit to what ever upper construct. Wishing well, wanting others to go after what they feel happy with, good will, wishing good, willing others to gave good, which is itself also a good will. All of Good householders actions in thoughts, words and deeds have will at first place. Even ignorance requires will toward it. And no action is done without judgement at first place. It's strong deluded to argue one judges based on not-judging. If not judging, why replay and even lift a opinion. See, people are that confused, and nobody can help them: total out of mind while still strong attached to sensuality...

While compassion get so far to even strongly advice not to act wrong, goodwill leaves all holding on what they think worthy their refuge. Goodwill doesn't desire to take over or control, it gives freedom and leaves it to the individual actor: "may they all act in ways to find the way to real peace for themselves with ease."

Just out of compassion (free to take on or reject), and yet just leaving metta behind. Mudita
